Soly, TC, Randy, D.J. and Neil comb through the data of Team NLU’s golf in 2025 via the USGA GHIN app to see who made the biggest moves in the last twelve months. We also reveal how the team fared in the “Will They Go Lower in 2025” game from last year’s pod and guess if we’ll better our low round from this year in 2026. We also vow to stop (or start) something in 2026, our favorite trends in golf and our most interesting playing partners of 2025.

1098: Royal Melbourne love at the Australian Open

Soly and TC talk all things Royal Melbourne and Australian Open: One of the best courses on earth took center stage this week, with Cam Smith three-putting on the 72nd hole to hand Rasmus Neergaard-Peterson a one-shot victory. Expect minimal birdies and bogeys discussion; we’re here to celebrate RM, react to Rory’s comments comparing it to Kingston Heath and have a fun hypothetical fifth major discussion.

From there, it’s on to the Nedbank in South Africa and the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, where Kristoffer Reitan and Hideki won those respective events. We also review some notable quotes from Wyndham, Jordan and Tiger.

We close with some thoughts on the reaction to our midweek pod with JT and the aggregation around his comments on the green speeds at Bethpage, plus some assorted news and notes.

With the Australian Open underway at Royal Melbourne, Soly and TC bring on Scott Warren and Matt Mollica - the hosts of the Australian Golf Passport Podcast - to discuss the tournament and a bevy of other golf topics from down under. These include moving the tournament away from a co-sanctioned event with the women’s open, the future of both men’s and women’s opens, recent course architecture renovations and updates at New South Wales, Royal Sydney and elsewhere. Plus, they cover recent updates to the World Top 100 rankings and their favorite interviews from their podcast so far.

1096: Justin Thomas on the 2025 Ryder Cup

Soly catches up with Justin Thomas to mainly talk all things 2025 Ryder Cup and the lessons learned from the defeat at Bethpage. But before their Ryder Cup chat, we hear from JT on his recovery from recent surgery and his career in team golf. They close their discussion with thoughts on the future of the PGA Tour under the new leadership of Brian Rolapp and on potential schedule changes in 2027.

Back in March, TC and Neil packed their bags and flew across the world to play at Tara Iti and both the North and South courses at Te Arai. They recorded this pod several months ago, but still hope you enjoy The Brothers Schuster reliving their Kiwi experience at some of the most scenic golf holes on the planet.

Soly, TC and Randy run a three-man weave on the pod, starting with  Sami Valimaki’s win at Sea Island and Jeeno Thitikul claiming the LPGA CME Tour Championship. They also touch on Harris English's hinting at a massive tour schedule shakeup for the 2027 season, some odds and ends from the LPGA season and potential roster movement on LIV. From there, they break down the newest Golf.com top 100 list, including several courses that made their debut and some notable names that moved up and down the rankings.

They close the pod with a chat about their Soly and TC's trip down south to see The Park in West Palm and a TGL site visit as well.

Soly is joined by former tour pro Steve Wheatcroft to discuss his professional career and his recently released book “Cocktails and Range Balls: One's Too Many, Ten's Not Enough." The book is a blend of memorable stories from his career at all levels of professional golf and his struggles with alcohol. It also discusses the difficulty of life on the road amidst the pressure of competing at the highest level. We’re incredibly thankful to Steve for his willingness to share his story and his foundation’s efforts to assist others who struggle with excessive drinking.
