A polarising change in direction that may alienate some of its most loyal fans, but one that lets Strapped evolve into something new and refreshing with the hallmarks of everything that makes the show so great.
This is great ! I just rewatched South Carolina and needed to add this screenshot in from Randy’s comment about the shirt. You too look like a dad who is trying to party!
Yeah a legit awful decision. As someone who is forced to hit a lot of punch shots, I would’ve gone 8 or 9 iron there.
He said he thought a 6 iron was too much loft. In what world do you get too much loft on a chipped 6 iron? It’s not even gonna get above your knees. Even if he caught the 4 iron clean, it would’ve gone straight into the ground.
I had the same thought. Very tough shot to play with a hot faced strong 4i. But yeah we weren’t there, it’s a hard shot period, everyone plays those differently, etc etc
I was yelling at the TV as soon as he starts talking about 4-iron. Unless those trees were just way worse than they seemed on camera, that was like a 6 or 7 iron shot at worst and he just got scared to hit it.

What a scene.
I just finished listening to this, thanks for the reminder. (If there’s another one I would love to be reminded lol)
Some of the items mentioned in there still stand true and some items you can tell times have changed.
Cannot wait for the next Strapped recap to come out.
Thought this was Rick Moranis at first

I think it was the Titleist sponsorship…
Depends on how much forward shaft lean the player wants - at some point the leading edge turns into a knife.
key to those shots is as much loft as you can keep it low enough with. gives you way more control
It was 100% the first thing that crossed my mind.
@MerchCzar should’ve done it just so he could have turned to the camera after and said “now that’s a West Texas Wedge baby”

@lazyjk would have hit putter to 5 feet
4 iron, 7 iron, branding iron. Didn’t matter what he used, it was the contact that ruined the shot
So many golf pros in this thread!
Have to think he gets that up and down if he has a good caddy. Obviously the budget wouldn’t allow for such a thing.

I could be talked into believing that Poosh just called DJ and offered his bit of audio unprompted. Seemed a little spontaneous.
Thanks for all you do online!
