Bowditch made the obligatory post-win leap onto the big board:

Here’s your color-coding key for context on YOTTO baselines:

Quick thoughts:

1) Willy Mac is doing work, y’all! T2 at the Texas Open gives him 34 more YOTTO points (135 total) and moves him up to 5th in this year’s rankings (sitting just outside a top-20 historical YOTTO at the moment). It seems like a foregone conclusion he’s going to bank a win soon, meaning his takeover is very spry and extremely lethal. Big upside. More MacKenzie, along with more anecdotes about his past, is better for all of us.

2) The regular crew at the top of the board (J Walker, Bubba, DJ, Jason Day, Harris English, etc) has been quiet the last few weeks. Calm before the Augusta storm no doubt. Will be good to get back to full throttle here shortly.

3) The bottom of the YOTTO Index (trust us, it exists) is pretty fascinating. The bottom six are Justin Rose, Steve Stricker, Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Henrik Stenson, and Tiger Woods. Each banked well over $3 million last year, none have won $1 million yet this season, which usually isn’t all that notable but this season ain’t exactly young still. Thanks to the reach-around, we’re 24 weeks of events into the 2014 season, with another 24 weeks of events to go (half-way for the non-math majors out there). We still have the four majors and other top-flight non-majors, but what we’re seeing YOTTO-wise is going past early-season aberration.
